News From The Embassy 2015 Part 2


Here is the second part of events initiated and organised by the Embassy of  the Republic of Poland in Wellington. The Ambassador decorated Dorota Szymańska with the Gold Cross of Merit and Anna Gruczyńska and Sylwia Śmiarowska with Silver Cross of Merit

The Ambassador participated in 175th Anniversary Treaty of Waitangi, 100th Anniversary of Gallipoli (ANZAC Day), 70th Commemoration of the End of World War II. The Polish Embassy initiated the production a documentary film about Pahiatua children which is available to watch on You Tube: AmbasadaRPw Wellington. 
Music Concerts in Wellington: Marcin Grzybowski - piano, Trio (jazz) Artur Dutkiewicz, Michał Barański, Grzegorz Grzyb,  Marcin Bronikowski (bariton)  performed  Dandini in Cindarella, Ania Filochowska represented Poland  in The Micheal Hill International Violin  Competition in Auckland.

Halina Poświatowska's poem ' Jestem  Julią' has been translated to Maori.

Mikołaj Nowacki's photos from the project 'Odra' were presented  at  Auckland Festival of Photography.
NZ  hero, George Culliford's descendents sons and grandchildren visited Poland to follow his footprints, they were surprised to learned that there is even a school in Tarnów, named after the mission (The Most III landing).
